The Forest Flute Choir welcomes all flute players, regardless of age of ability; no tricky auditions. All you need is a flute, a music stand and a sense of humour! We meet approximately fortnightly during term time and play a great variety of musical styles. We raise money for local and national causes. We are relaxed and friendly. Annual membership of £20/£12. We meet 2pm- 4 pm, Sundays on April 23, May 7, June 4 & 25, July 9 (5 rehearsal dates between April and July). Parkend Memorial Hall, Fancy Road, Parkend, GL15 4JA.
As many of you will have already realised, Wendy has moved on to pastures new, and we are very happy to welcome into The Forest Bee Mrs Caroline Jones of Fashion Revived. Caroline brings with her already proven publishing credentials, and is well on the way to producing our next edition of The Forest Bee.
We wish Wendy every success in her new walk of life, and wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to her for all the hard work and wonderful creativity she brought to The Forest Bee, which, without her, may have remained just as an idea rather than a real venture.
It’s been wonderful to get so much positive feedback about our project from so many people across the Forest area.
Our new brochure will be in an outlet near you just after Christmas, and you’ll be able to find about about all the wonderful new learning opportunities coming up in the New Year on our website from just after Christmas 2014.
Don’t forget that, if you are short on ideas for great Christmas presents, there are lots of fun things available to both individuals and small groups here, such as Glass Fusing down in Tintern, singing tuition in Ruardean and Coleford, clever things with cakes in Parkend, pot throwing courses in Ruardean, bread making in Longhope, and so much more, so why not get something that someone can use forever rather than something just for the moment? Make Christmas last!
